A Golden Hour Wedding Story is a wonderfully romantic vision for your wedding day. This Briarcliff Manor wedding venue sits atop the scenic Hudson River capturing all the golden rays just before sunset.
Anna and Patricks family traveled from upstate New York for the weekend and all the family and friends witnessed an amazing wedding ceremony just moments before a magnificent sunset on the Hudson Valley.

A great celebration like this certainly deserves a rehearsal. Sometimes at the venue and sometimes it is a night out with the close family and bridal party.
Anna and Patrick chose a night with family and bridal party at the Red Horse restaurant at The Opus hotel in White Plains, NY. This was convenient for the couple and family because they were staying at The Opus to be ready for the bridal prep in the morning.
Including photo and video coverage at your rehearsal dinner is a wise choice. It is great for your photographer to meet with the bridal party, family prior to the wedding day festivities. We use this time to go over the shot list and the expectations on the wedding day for all those involved. For Patrick and Anna we had a chance to practice some sunset poses on the streets of White Plains.

The morning of the wedding began at The Opus with makeup and some great photos with the bridesmaids. We captured some toasts and meaningful words shared by the bridesmaids.
Once we captured the great pajama photos we packed up and set off to the venue. The Briarcliff Manor was about a 15 minute drive from The Opus.

Anna and Patrick chose to get dressed at the venue, most venues have a groom room and bridal suite for these prep moments. Couples need to schedule these moments with the venue coordinator prior to the wedding day.
This venue has some really great prep spaces and the grounds are terrific for the romantic vibe Anna and Patrick were after.

Once the bride was ready we lined up the bridesmaids for the bride reveal. this moment is always amazing. We captured both expressions through a a small makeup mirror they had on site.

A few last minute details, finishing touches and we are ready for some great photos in front of the manor.

Patrick and his guys rolled the dice, played some cards and enjoyed some beverages before the big moment. We captured the photons and got them together for some outdoor shots before the bride saw him.

For Patrick and Anna we broke up the portrait session in three parts so they would not see each other until the ceremony. Anna wanted Patrick to see her at the end of the aisle. This is a very romantic and traditional experience they wanted to share.
The three parts of the shoot were Bride and Girls / Groom and Guys / Bridal Party together on steps after the ceremony.

Now for the guys! We have a ton of poses we can pull from but more natural and fun shots are what these guys called for. The fun never stopped, but we had to get the ceremony started.

The Briarcliff Manor is a great venue for an outdoor wedding ceremony. The location overlooks the Hudson River and is beautiful in all seasons. Once the ceremony is over we continued to the front of the manot for more photos.

Photo time! We captured the bride and groom portraits before the ceremony but they did not want to see each other until they came down the aisle. We continued to the front of the manor for family and bridal party photos while the guests continued to the cocktail hour.

We grabbed these family groupings during the cocktail hour. It is a great idea for you to create a shot list so you can call on the family members needed for the family photos. Also, let the family members know they will be needed.

Let the fun begin. This outdoor ceremony leads right to the outdoor cocktail hour. Some great food, great environment and lots of love.

The party is on and we captured all these great moments of the night. From the grand entrance through the cake cutting. Everyone had a great time and we have all the photos!

The Briarcliff Manor is a beautiful venue both day and night. We always encourage some great night shots. They make for perfect wall art.
